We love that there’s a locally brewed way-back-machine YouTube series that takes a deep dive into artists’ older albums: Back Catalog Listening Party (BCLP), hosted by Anthony Ihrig and Mother Banjo, was born of the pandemic-era need to stay connected with artists and support their work during lockdown when no one could go out and play live. It has grown into this rich, weekly tradition that will shortly be embarking into podcast land as well. Tony and MoJo reached out to OBI in the run-up to our 21st birthday party to stroll down memory lane and talk about our 2010 release, Mahala Drive, on the show. Colleen, Katrina, and Natalie—OBI’s remaining co-founders—got to sit down with a (sometimes questionable) beverage and reminisce about the experience and the music. Curious?
